1.The begining show how the aurthor tell's about the book Scarlet letter. When the first part of the story starts it talks about a village. The writer tells the reader how the story came from, and when he wrote it.
2. This novel was one of Nathaniel Hawthore most famous writings. Over millions of people bought this book. Even now people still buy this book so now this book is on the Top most best sellers. Most of these setting came from Boston.
3. Puritains are religious people who really take their beliefs seriously. Poeple could be put to death over making or breaking Gods Laws. At the end time people were either put to jail, or put to death.
4. Hester Prynne A sinner to God and who commit adultry. She has to walk around with a red Scarlet letter on her chest for the rest of her life. She is a example of a sinner who was busted by other people and had to pay a price.
5. Pearl Is the daughter of Hester. Pearl is trying to be the badest she could possibly be so she can take all the attention off her mother. Pearl is going to become a hand full with Hester.
6. Roger Is the man that Hester was married to. On a accident cause Hester to believe that he was dead. So then she found another man and had sex with him.
7. The Governor Is the man who was running in office at the time. He was able to see the puishments that Hester went through because she had sex outside of her marriage. So she was punished.
8. Church Back in that time church was really wasen't taken littly. They were some real religious people back in the day. The church seems like they were mostly in power in that century.
9. Prison When it was mentoined that it was a prison the first thing that came to my mind is someone is going there. Mabe I thought that someone killed somebody. Or somebody was going to tell us information from a jail cell.
10. Hester is about to have a babby. I thought wow how hard is that going to be on the child that she is going to bear. The child would have to live with her mommy being a bad person in society.
11. I belive that Hester is so angry at her self for doing the wrong thing. Sh e might have to tell her daughter the mistake that mommy mad and that she shouldn't make the same. Hester should be happy she didn't get killed.
12. A strange man was looking about at Hester. Hester was so afraid that she hold the babby tight to her bossom. The man came over and demanded her to tell him who is the Father of the babby. Hester refuse to tell the name of the Father so that's why she is sent back to Prison.
13. The babby is allowed to go to prison with it's mother. It is so sad to read and to see them in these situation. The Minister came to visit her.
14. The red Letter I think that is a hard way to live life. When you have to walk around with your sin on your chest. It has to be there for the rest of her life. I am glad that my God that I serve wouldn't make me wear my sins around.
15. Chilligworth is the Husband of Hester. Chillingworth seems like he wasn't dead after all. He just want to know the name of Peals dad. Hester still won't give up his name and stuff like that.
16. Hester makes a Oath that she will keep Mr. Chillingworth a secrert. Because if someone finds out that her husband was chillingworth her punishment might be way worse.
17. Hester finally gets out of prison. She is now a free women now. She plans to move into town into a small home. But never the lest she can't leave Boston because of her sins are super wrong.
18. is a very deep word to describe someone. That is what Hester is like nothing. She walks around with the Scarlet letter. Now she belive that people don't want nothing to do with her because she wears the Red Letter.
19. At the age of 3 years old Pearl is already talking and walking. I belive that this little girl has a mind set of a grown person. She was named after a great prince. She is now going to be a very important part of this story.
20. Pearl show Hester and reminds her of herself when she was young and growing up. Pearl has a mind to be the problem so her mother won't have to carry so much pain around.
21. Freinds Pearl rather not have freinds. It is something deep down inside her which makes her not get along with the children of the village. Instead she shares bad words to them.
22. Inmagination. When I think of this word I think of whatever I want to think of. In the case of Pearl she uses her imagination in some way's we wouldn't be able to imagine.
23. Elf Hester is scared that her daughter might be possessed with some kind of spirits. She hates the puritains and she denies the Heavenly Father. She has really lost her mind.
24. Taken Hester heard some news like they think that pearl should be taken away form her. I really don't think that Hester can handle the little mamma in this case.
25. Plead Hester has to plead to keep her daughter. The fight is going to be hard but it must be done. Hester really loves her daughter so she will not give up. It's going to be hard though because of the Scarlet Letter.
26. This book is pretty hard to understand. I got confused a couple of times. When I got well in the book I understood more about the book. This is a very sad book to me.
27. was a very important setting in this book. They mentioned this place a lot in the book. So this building was good back then and now.
28. When the Govenor challegend Hester to raise her kid in a christain way. I thought that the christain way is the good way. Just because she broked God's law doesn't make her a bad person.
29. Still they try to take the child from Hester. I believe that God has assigned the child to Hester. The Governor needs to get off her case and leave her alone. Maybe God gave Hester that babby so the babby can learn from it's mother mistakes.
30. At the end of my Journal I have wrote alot of worlds that striked me. One thing that really gets me is that how the people treats Hester like a really bad person. I don't care who you are nobody is perfect but God. God doesn't make no mistakes.
